Short Creative Sequence
This week’s short creative sequence is challenging and powerful. If you want to try this in your own practice or incorporate it into your next class, I recommend warming up first and it does take some hip and ankle mobility. Please like, comment and share if you enjoy it :)
If you choose to teach this, I encourage you to play with it in your own body first. Notice what feels authentic to teach and what doesn’t. Make it your own!
Playlist
This week’s playlist is full of up beat songs that I usually play during my afternoon classes. Each playlist starts mellow, builds and then slows back down to Savasana though so I’m sure no matter what your vibe, you can find a song or two you like!
This playlist starts earthy and has some of my favorite songs to slow it down to. ‘Healer Might’ breaks my heart every time.
Reading
To theme a yoga class based on this beautiful and reflective reading, the focus can be on self-compassion, honoring past experiences, and inner wisdom. The class can guide students through a journey of embracing and making peace with the versions of themselves they have been, recognizing the wisdom those past selves carry, and ultimately letting go with love.
Beginning Words: "Today, let’s make peace with all the versions of ourselves we once were. Each version has shaped who we are now. They are the bones of the temple we sit in today, and the rivers of wisdom guiding us forward."
Closing Words: “As we come to the end of our practice today, take a moment to honor the journey that has brought you here. Every experience, every version of yourself, has contributed to the strength and wisdom you carry now.
Just as you’ve moved through your practice today, I invite you to move through your life with the same compassion—forgiving, honoring, and letting go of the past with love.”
